Bangkok during the flooding 2011

Apparantly Bangkok wasn’t the best destination to go this october due to the worst flooding in 50 years. We stayed at the backpackers paradise road Koh san road, it had more tourists than thai people, feels a bit weird since we have not really seen many tourist during our stay in China.

We decided to go out for a beer two even though we were pretty tired after the flight. On the road next to ours there was a sweet bar playing Johnny Cash live. At that place we met some russian guys and a crazy american who was trying out a carer as a teacher in Thailand. It is quite interesting to hear all these different stories of how people try to make a living far away from their real home – no matter if they are just here for a few weeks or for the long haul.

It did not feel like the city provided much more than good shopping, rain and temples so our stay there only lasted for two and a half day! No, actually we fled from the water ;-) . All trains were fully booked and some were even cancelled, good thing we had booked seats on a bus that took us straight to a ferry that led us out the paradise island Koh Tao!
